Meet the new Softr šŸš€

Hmmm, I’ve tested this many times (20+) and never seen that behavior. Nor have we heard it from other users.

Did you create a work around flow, and maybe that could be why?

Hmm, no no, I’m just using the standard Softr email login. I also haven’t seen it while testing but users have reached out about it.

The new Softr footer block looks great, and I’m really excited about the functionalities it offers. However, there are two things I wish it included.

In most cases, users want to display their phone number and physical address in the footer. While this is technically possible with the current version, a more user-friendly approach would make a big difference.

It would be great to have an option to add a phone icon alongside the phone number, with a tel: link so visitors can click to call directly. Similarly, for addresses, having a map marker icon next to the address—with a clickable link that opens the location in Google Maps—would add both visual appeal and functionality.

Additionally, the ability to customize the colors of these links/icons would be a valuable enhancement for better design flexibility and brand consistency.

@Jjenglert I’m experiencing the same now when trying to sign up for the Softr Academy. It took me quite honestly a lot of effort to get eventually… About 1 in 4 of the codes reached my inbox. Nothing in SPAM. By the time I noticed the code in my email the 5 minute code expiration had already been reached.

Have you guys looked into this a bit further?
It’s a big worry for me if this keeps happening. Users unfortunately don’t always give you the feedback and then just churn if this happens

What part @Tim_ClimatEU ?

If it’s emails reaching the users inbox, yes we’re continuing to see what we can do to improve email deliverability, among other things. It’s a tough one though as there are many factors involved, some of which are out of our control.

@Tim_ClimatEU, are you saying that the new sign in is not sending authentication emails to users immediately?

I am a little overwhelmed with the rather underwhelming new version of Softr. Specifically, I don’t like that the nav menu cannot be customized as in the previous version. It was very nice to have buttons of different colors or with different rounded edges. It was also nice to have different fonts on links because I could match my entire site with my brand as well as use different color nav menus for different purposes.

For example, in one instance we have clients who have not completed their onboarding, so their account type is ā€œNot Completeā€. Users with a ā€œNot Completeā€ account type see a red nav bar with the proper buttons and links that force the user to complete their profile and finish the onboarding process. With the new nav menu, this is not possible at all.

I also don’t like the fact that I will likely need to rebuild my entire application. Softr representatives must be extremely busy with this rollout because the only response I got was that I should hire an expert for the migration, which is something I don’t feel I should need to do after being a loyal Softr user for over two years…

I do not want to criticize anyone or any ideas, but I must admit my fears of Softr now being a long-term solution for me. There had to be an easier way to do this…

Please pardon my frustrations.

Hi @TomDeC

Thank you for taking the time to share this thoughtful feedback — it’s both valuable and deeply appreciated. I can completely understand how these changes feel disruptive, especially after investing so much time into building with Softr over the past few years.

We’ve shared your message with our product team, and we’re actively reviewing it as we continue to improve the new navigation experience. While this update was part of a broader infrastructure shift to support future scalability and flexibility, we know that losing some customization options has made things harder for certain use cases — like the one you mentioned around onboarding. That’s incredibly helpful context.

In the meantime, we do have a few workarounds that might help you recreate some of that functionality. I’d be happy to walk you through them if you’re open to it.

Also, just to note — you don’t need to migrate to the new blocks immediately. If your current setup is working, it’s perfectly fine to wait as we continue to iterate and improve things based on user feedback like yours.

Again, thanks for being a long-time Softr user and for speaking up. We truly want to make this platform work better for builders like you :pray:t4:

We need extra sign up fields and navigation styling back, at least for legacy pro and business plan builders so we can use ā€œThe New Softrā€ as well:

I just migrated a dif site, and I love this new nav

But on mobile it looks really odd, is there anyway to keep the pc style on mobile but with a burger icon?

Yes, you can access this by clicking on the nav, pressing the mobile icon next to ā€œLayoutā€ and then choosing the value for ā€œtopā€
