Form photos NOT WORKING

Conditional forms do not access mobile phone camera on Android. Instead of camera/vid, and other options, goes straight to files. Works on iOS though.

I can build apps “fast” with Softr, but it doesn’t matter if they don’t work.

A day later, still not working, and no response from Softr.

Two days later, still not working and no response from Softr.

Hey, I’m really sorry to hear you’re facing this issue.
Just a heads-up—reaching out to support is usually the fastest way to get a response and have the issue looked into directly by the Softr team. Of course, sharing it here is great for keeping the community informed, but if you ever need a quicker resolution, support is the best way to go. If you’re not sure how to contact us, just let me know, and I’ll help!

As for the issue itself, I’ll make sure to report it to the tech team first thing on Monday.

Hey Aramayis. I am posting here, because of the frequency of bugs. I find them constantly.
These are just the recent ones I reported to the community (not including support).

This is not even about feature limitations, but a problem where builders are paying $1000’s/yr to regularly perform QC if they want their apps to work. I accept that Softr is not “100%” @artur, but when these bugs continue to affect the UX this frequently, it’s unacceptable!

Sure! As I mentioned, posting here is greatly appreciated since it helps keep the community informed about ongoing issues. However, for the fastest way to inform the Softr team, it’s a good idea to also reach out to us directly via Support.

Hey Ben, we need more details about this issue since we can’t reproduce it. It’s most likely specific to certain devices and browsers. Please reach out to the support team, as we’ll need your app’s URL and some additional details.

@artur, the Android phone software is up to date and this function works on other web apps, but not in Softr’s preview mode:
Android Software Update:

Craigslist webapp from same phone:

In the last screenshot it is showing that you can choose “Camera .” When you select it, what happens?

Camera view to take a picture. Then I can take it with Craigslist’s web app. Not so much from this Softr app in preview mode.

So, is this issue only in preview mode, or does it happen in the live app as well?

It is not published yet. Would rather test it, before releasing it to clients, customers, and/or team members. Preview version was working before on an Android phone.

Could you please contact us and grant collaboration access so we can check your app? Since my response here will likely be delayed, I believe the community thread might not be the best place for detailed troubleshooting. Once we investigate, we’ll update the community on whether the issue is resolved.

Also, in your answer, the part about being able to take it with Craigslist’s web app is a bit confusing. It seems to indicate that it’s working with another live app but not with the unpublished app being checked in preview. Am I correct?

Correct. Again, I can take and upload a photo to Craigslist, but I can’t with a preview version of a Softr app using the same Android phone.

Okay, thanks for clearing it up. We will inform you here and by email once it’s fixed.

Please keep in mind that it may take some time, as troubleshooting is a bit difficult at the moment. It’s a specific issue that needs to be tested on different devices.

Hey Ben, We have implemented some improvements that should impact your case as well.
Can you please check it and let us know?

Yes. It is working again. Thank you.

What was the problem, and as I have asked @artur before, how will Softr keep this from happening again? I don’t want to publish features that will not work in the future. As I have reported here and with support, Softr bugs are too frequent.

I’m glad to know that it’s working!
