I’ve tried a dozen different sizes for my logo and no matter what I try, it’s too small. There seems to be some constraint in the settings that is scaling down the size of the logo.
Similarly, there doesn’t seem to be an option to add a text field to the navbar. This is where I’d like to add the name of the portal, but that doesn’t seem to be an option (I tried creating a hybrid logo that includes the portal name, but again, it’s scaled down too small).
The only other items in the community board that seem to speak to a similar question haven’t surfaced any solutions. It seems odd that we wouldn’t have more control over this key element. What am I missing?!

If you need the to change the logo size, you can use a custom code snippet to scale the logo in the new navigation. The code and instructions are available in this community thread: Resize logo in new header? - #2 by matthieu_chateau
Under Settings > General > Logo > you can change image to icon & text - maybe that helps for part of your question.
