Automatically close modal after button clicked (ISO solution that works in 2026)

I would like a modal to close as soon as user clicks a “one-click edit” list button inside the modal.

There are some old threads about this, but the code provided did not work.

I tried using the solutions found in the threads below, with no success.

What are people successfully using nowadays?

Close Modal after record update
