In the past, when I’ve wanted to filter for a single user, I have said if Softr email from Airtable is the user’s email in Softr - I’ve used that as my filter.
I’m having some other issues with emails at the moment with one of my clients, so I’ve started to use a magic link.
So, if the magic link in Airtable is the magic link of the user in Softr, then that’s the new filter.
Are there any downsides to using this method?
I can’t think of any, but I’m not sure.
I’d love to know, thank you.
Hi @GreyGypsy47. The main downside that comes to mind is that while emails are more readable and can easily be compared at a glance in your base and in-app to see if the conditional filters match, the same cannot be said for magic links. For example, with an email like sam@test.io, we can easily understand that it belongs to Sam, but with a magic link like https://brainboost.softr.app/magic-authentication?magic-token=22f05df0415e452ba6663ec85931464a, there is no indication of which user this belongs to, and it cannot be verified at a glance.
