User defined ordering in tables

Users need to choose the order of records in a table. The order is completely user-defined, i.e. sorting algorithms will not work, sorting by column will not work.

Ideally they could drag and drop items above or below each other, as per many options in Softr.

Any recommendations on how to do this atm?

I am curious to know if you have seen the sorting you ask for, in any other platforms or services managing tables.

Is it just a basic drag and drop of rows what you are after?

Hi acjnas… Yes… e.g. User wants to move a row from the top to the middle of the table, between two adjacent rows. Drag and drop, exactly like when you move a Page up or down the list in Softr Studio.

We also need the item’s position # synched to a field in the data source. This would be the sort order.

Huge +1 for us on this. We prioritise the orders of each and every day for our team to work through by dragging orders up and down. Our old system had this drag and drop functionality, but not Softr.
We save hours of unnecessary communication with drag and drop records.

Further to this, we tried the new Kanban board as a potential alternative, but it does not remember the position of records in the same column (yet).
