I’m building a checklist for users that pre-populates the tasks they need to complete based on responses they give in the onboarding form after signing up. (i.e their business is in hospitality, they get a specific list of tasks and file requests.)
Once they have the table, most fields are pre-populated but I want them to be able to single select (To Do, In Progress, Completed) like in airtable and also have them upload the document requested of them in the table. This is basically the most important function for this MVP. I’m replacing the need for emailing 150 docs and ideally having them upload via Softr and then having it saved in airtable. Here’s a screenshot of the table:
All I’ve seen so far in terms of users being able to upload documents is within forms which wouldn’t work since I need to show the priority and status as selected by the user. Are there features either within tables or lists that allow the users to upload files and have multi-select options? If not, I’d love some suggestions on how to accomplish this.
Action buttons!
Your Airtable “Upload” field is an attachment field. The Softr edit action referencing this is type: “File”.
(note there is currently no option to edit data in tables, or other blocks, in-line)
Gotcha. So is there any another way to create a task management block or is it just not possible at this time?
It is very possible with Softr.io’s various dynamic blocks … and enabling user-edits via Action Buttons to upload files and change status in drop-downs … but at the moment the editing happens in the modal, not in-line.
I’m pretty new to everything, so would love some help or resources on how to enable user-edits via Action Buttons. I see action buttons on the CTA dynamic block but not sure how I’d integrate this.
It’s all there in Softr’s online help files.
There is a link to the action buttons documentation in my first reply.
And in my next reply I refer to dynamic blocks (you cannot use a CTA block for your purposes, it is a static block).
I’ve learned a lot from Softr’s documentation, trial and error, these forums, and YouTube … I think it will all work out well for you too and achieving your goals. Softr makes a lot possible
Thanks, Mark really appreciate it!
