Tooltip, please!

Hi Softr team. We badly need Softr to support Tooltip.

From what I’ve been hearing on the monthly business and professional community calls, other Softr customers are really rallying around this feature. It’s so important for even moderately complex apps that need to guide their users through the app.

Please, add Tooltip to all dynamic blocks’ fields.

Thanks!

Info icons that reveal a tooltip would also be helpful! The icon could be next to form input input fields, or other fields where users need guidance.

Hi all, just to confirm we’re talking about tooltip as part of field label right? (coming soon)

Yes, this is it.

Confirming. You got it, Austin!

Wow, what a momentum from the community on this one. Really hoping this will get traction.

Austin, one thing we need to think about is whether this “i” tooltip will accompany field labels in the blocks’ content item fields OR in the actions’ edit record fields, OR both…

There is argument that can be made for both. The whole purpose is user guidance.

It may be important for users to learn the meaning/usage of a field while looking at a block. But when they click on the Edit button to actually edit the fields in the modal, it’s also important for them to be able to reference the meaning/usage at the time of actual data entry. Since the data entry Edit Record modal partially obstructs the blocks that it updates behind itself, it would be difficult for a user to reference back the “i” tooltip accompanying the label in the block itself, once the user is operating in the Edit Record modal.

Just something to keep in mind. My vote would be for adding the Tooltip to both types of labels - those of the blocks’ content items and those of the actions’ edit record items.
