Will the existing Table allow inline edits, or will it be a new block? I’m planning to upgrade tables and will wait if there’s a new block coming out.
Hello @NikW,
The Inline editing option will be available on the new Table blocks and it’s in progress, the team is working on an implementation.
Thanks Suzie!
Inline editing for table blocks is now available on supported data sources (google sheets, notion, Softr DB (beta), Monday.com) and coming to more data sources soon!
That’s great to hear. Unfortunately our data source is primarily AirTable! Do you have an estimated date for AirTable release? Thanks
Nothing for sure yet but we’re working hard to make it happen soon. I’d estimate in the next month but given the size and popularity of this data source, we’re taking it a bit slower to ensure the transfer goes as intended.
OK, makes sense. Good luck, I’ll be patient
Another question on table data sources if you don’t mind? Will they allow for pasting, similar to Excel functionality? e.g. can a user copy several cells’ worth of data, ideally from Excel, and paste into a similar range in the Softr table?
I’d suggest adding this one as a feature request. At the moment, I don’t see anything about us expanding to that level of functionality here.
Hi, was wondering if there is a status update for this feature? My organization is considering hiring a programmer to add the in-line editing ability for us, but if Softr will add this feature soon, we’d rather wait than invest in something that we can get for free:)
Hi there,
We don’t plan to go this deep on our line editing functionality at the moment.
Our database product has this type of experience, but not our interface product in case that helps?
Okay, that’s good to know! Right now we have everything in Airtable so we’ll have to see which option makes more sense for us at this point.
Airtable has that database inline function as well, but having this feature available in your database doesn’t help from the interface stand point. Hope this helps to clarify.
We’re trialling Airtable Interfaces. Having users bulk change table data is a key requirement, so we’re considering moving internal users onto AirTable Interfaces, and retain Softr for client users who need a more controlled interface.
