I couldn’t agree more.
It’s frustrating that basic features, like being able to use linked records in table filters, are still not available.
Despite being a huge Softr fan, I’m starting to explore other options that have the features I need.

If anyone goes for Security Certificate of ISO27001, this is one of the questions. You have to prove your data is backed up regularly.
I hate to say it, but it is true. I went from Softr’s biggest advocate to no longer using it with my new clients. The vibe coding block (pre limits) was pretty great. Now adding one button burns 10% of my monthly credits. Seems like a big cash grab to be able to charge more for credits.
Still don’t have basic form features like filtered linked records, softr databases is still lacking and data keeps disappearing, and the lack of a customizable UI is quite clunky. Seeing the vibe coded apps being built on loveable and replit blow softr out of the water so they will have a hard time competing there.
I hope they listen and can reel back their user base… I truly loved the platform and really built some amazing things with it
Audit Log – apparently now being released next week which will be amazing!
Curious where you saw or heard this. It’s an important feature for me and I haven’t heard of development yet.
Unfortunately the audit log mentioned was only relating to database schema changes and only for enterprise customers. There’s still no way to audit actual record changes made by users which we’re really struggling without
We really need this too … and we’re not an enterprise customer ![]()
Thanks everyone for all the feedback, sharing your concerns and worries openly, we always appreciate them. I wanted to assure you we always read it, listen to it, and discuss internally in the team.
Valid feedback, lots of things still to be done - and lots of things to improve in all the products we have - it can’t be done overnight. We have 4 products in one, and it takes time, effort and deliberate prioritization with our team size to execute on.
I wanted to highlight one topic though - our belief with Softr has always been to create the fastest/easiest platform for non-developers to build business apps. The means to achieve that goal will evolve, no-code is great for having reliable controls, secure logic, etc, and AI is great to make building certain things faster and easier.
Our goal is not to replace one with the other - but combine best of both worlds. We do not plan to have AI replace all no-code interactions, the opposite - many aspects of software building have to be deterministic, and let the user control the outcome, adjustments, settings etc. AI or no-code, both are means to get to the end result - and we won’t force our users into one or the other.
While our platform is evolving, and we thrive to launch new things fast, for you all to leverage and learn from your feedback, there will be certain aspects that haven’t been developed yet in the early versions - like many settings controls in the static blocks → but these are all in progress and a matter of time to get there.
And database backups is on the way (I tested it in staging, coming soon!) ![]()
Appreciate your feedback. Although the AI vibe code block might look great, when I try to use it I constantly run into issues with it and then end up using all my credits but still doesn’t work so I give up. Even trying to get it to create a simple table with action buttons to open Item Details doesn’t work
This makes the native block improvements a real necessity as vibe coding is too unreliable for no coders
Hi @sarah_h - I had this issue too. I don’t know if you use Claude but this comment from @jasonsb really helped me move forward with the AI vibe code block - A new era: build real business software with AI, starting today - #17 by jasonsb
Appreciate this @Mariam and that developments take time.
I think it would really help everyone in the Community if we had some kind of roadmap re this - ”there will be certain aspects that haven’t been developed yet in the early versions - like many settings controls in the static blocks → but these are all in progress and a matter of time to get there.” - its the unknown that adds to the frustration - we would love to know specifically what’s being worked on, what isn’t, what might be a few weeks, what might be a year etc. Then we can stop requesting the same thing over and over ![]()
Thank you
@mariam, the issue isn’t whether or not features will develop moving forward. Long term users have already experienced Softr’s progression and evolution thus far. It’s HOW you have changed over the years.
For instance, with “the New Softr” release, useful styling settings were deprecated last year. Legacy users had to migrate our apps for new onboarding and navigation features at the expense of no-code styling that was better. Looking back, we’ve had to trade off great legacy configuration features for paired down styling that Softr is now imploring us to enhance with AI at significantly higher variable costs. Here’s a great example:
Softr should strike a better balance between its useful features and its trendy new deployments that are costly for builders. You can start by polling us in the community before removing or making significant changes to existing features.
Thank you - Ben
Hi Grainne, I’ve now got a Claude licence and been trying to utilise the method suggested. I seem to run into issues when trying to get the native action buttons to work with a vibe code block. I think there’s maybe something wrong with the vibe code block ![]()
This is the bit I can’t get to work even when specifically asking the AI to create the actions. It says its created them but then still get the message below
Now encountered a new issue with another vibe code block ![]()
I created a block to use as a simple uploader to populate records from an excel sheet but get an error saying ‘record creation is disabled’ and when I ask the AI it says it’s nothing to do with the code and it’s permissions on the data source level! This is not true and the AI is unable to fix any issues. So fed up of Vibe Coding and constant issues ![]()
@booboobooboo just wanted to let you know that we just released the ability to display up to 5 buttons on items details blocks (as well as a new setting to determine the position of those buttons)
There are many other feedbacks from this thread that we are working on and will share other updates soon hopefully.
Companies need to realize AI doesn’t improve everything, and not everyone wants to use it.
I didn’t choose Softr because I want to go back and forth with AI, just trying to make a single, simple change. Which Softr’s only suggested solution was to go back and forth with a different AI instead, to avoid using up credits…(thread link).
It seems Softr has made its main focus expanding its AI capabilities rather than providing updates the community has requested. Such as…
I loved Softr when I started using it. It was a no-code builder that still allowed the user to make the changes they wanted. I can’t see myself continuing to use the platform if it becomes just another AI app builder & have already started looking at other options.
I could not more agree with all those comments. Thanks for bringing it !
After a few weeks of working with Softr, I wanted to share some honest feedback. Both the good and the frustrating.
First, the good: I genuinely like the overall concept. The logic around user groups and access rights management is well thought out and something I appreciated early on.
But here’s where things got rough:
Basic features that have been requested for years are still missing. This is discouraging when you’re trying to build something production-ready and keep hitting walls that the community flagged long ago.
The Vibe Coding block feels like one step forward, two steps back. I had high hopes for it, but in my experience, it seems to create more problems than it solves.
The AI / Vibe Coding block burns through credits at an alarming rate, with little to show for it. I’ve attached a screenshot: two 9-credit transactions that both ended in errors, with no result, no output, and no explanation of what went wrong. I reported this to support via chat and was told I’d receive a refund. That was days ago. Still nothing.
This is not a no-code platform, at least not for anything beyond the basics. To get an app to a finished, polished state, you will need to write code. That’s a fundamental mismatch with how Softr markets itself.
The Softr team seems largely absent from the forum. Many posts go unanswered. Are you all on holiday? Seriously, some acknowledgement would go a long way.
I’m not here to bash Softr, I see the potential and I want it to work. But right now the gap between the promise and the reality is hard to ignore.
