Softr DataBases: Rich Text - Long Text Field

Hi Team,

I am trying to move to Softr Databases slowly, but the biggest hurdle is the long text field.
It does not support any form of rich text. When i am trying to copy paste my rich content in here is is coming with ## and ** for heading and bolded content respectively. I am having to sit down and clean it up for minutes at a time.

Any way around it? or any Idea when Rich text or markdowns will be supported?

Honestly I am a bit surprised by this:
I think one of the biggest complaints from Airtable users with softr have been the lack of support for Markdown. The explaination on the community has been that Airtable uses some sort of unique thingy and do not follow global markdown standards. If I remember correctly.

So i was expecting this to be fixed for sure with Softr Databses. Just a bit surpised. Rich text is sort of basics for any sort of long text field.

Just FYI - I have a LMS - course, so i need rich text to show chapter Notes and summaries in a comprehensible manner along with the course video.

Hi Ameer, until Softr officially supports rich text or Markdown in their native database fields, a practical workaround is to store your content in HTML format within the long text field and use a custom code block or embed component on the frontend to render it properly. This avoids manually cleaning up markdown syntax and preserves formatting for your LMS notes and summaries. You could also explore syncing Softr with Airtable or another backend that supports rich text until Softr expands this feature. :clock3:

Hi @jhonnmarie ,

Thanks for the suggestion. I did not think of storing it as HTML and using embed block on front end. I think this. might work. I wil try this and keep the thread upadted.

I already have airtable, From Airtable it renders properly. But I am trying to move from Airtable to Softr DB to gain some speed and reduce my tool stack cost.
