šŸš€ Softr Databases are here!

@Acefast would you be reading this data often ? If the amount of records grows and you access the mentioned table frequently it can become slow.

Nah, its just for reference. I have made an automation to save them in .txt so should be fine with 32k

So now instead you upload txt file ? smart

Hi everyone!

We’re excited to share that the public API and Zapier connectors are now live for Softr Databases! This integration allows you to connect Softr Databases to any external tool - so long as that tool has an API.

For the Public API, you can find the docs and overview video here. The API is powerful and flexible, with a wide range of endpoints that let you use Softr Databases exactly how you need to for your use case. It’s also highly performant, allowing up to 4x more requests per second than many other APIs we’re used to working with.

For our Zapier integration, we offer multiple triggers - such as ā€œDatabase record updatedā€ and ā€œDatabase record addedā€ - that can kick off automations and agents. On the action side, you can:

  1. Create app user
  2. Create database record
  3. Delete app user
  4. Delete database record
  5. Update database record
  6. Find database record

You can see the Zapier integration in action here: https://youtu.be/K_BMknb3pq0

:eyes: Up next: Airtable import, plus Make and n8n integrations.

We hope you enjoy this new update to Softr Databases - and we can’t wait to see what you build with it!

It was Patricks suggestion

Just noticed a new Softr Databases feature that I haven’t seen any documentation for yet. We can now highlight a cells contents and drag it to copy it into other cells in that column. This is a small but powerful feature that will save so much time. Great work Softr Team. Keep the updates coming!

Again, devil is in the details. Softr will not be applying their planned Airtable synchronization to legacy blocks. It’s unfortunate, since legacy blocks are a lot more customizable.

Thank you, we appreciate the feedback and attention to detail Toby!

Try the same for dates and numbers and select two cells and it will recognize simple increments and try to follow them when you drag  Or press ⌄ Alt to opt out from the behavior to just copy the same values. More improvements of the ā€œfill handleā€ to come in the future!

I have been using the DB and have built out an app rthat we had in AT enterprise into it. So far so good.

One question, the 32k limit on long text is workable. How about roll ups of say 10 fields currently all holding around 10-15k or a formula that produced something that exceeds this limit? This is rare but we need to know if this is soemthing that will be blocked at a later date.

Hi everyone! :waving_hand:

This Thursday we’re going live to talk all about migrating to Softr Databases. We’ll share a step-by-step demo of how to make the switch, best practices to set yourself up for success, and common pitfalls to avoid.

If you’re thinking about moving to Softr Databases—whether now or in the future—this session will give you the clarity and confidence to do it right.
