So far I’ve only managed to get 4 pages indexed out of hundreds. When I add the sitemap.xml then Google Search Console immeditaley shows it as “Couldn’t Fetch” yet if I click to open it directly then I see the whole XML file with no issues. I’ve also added multiple pages one by one to be indexed but only 4 have been indexed.
Any experience whether this is a Softr issue and how to resolve it?
Yes I would like them all indexed and they are all there in the XML file provided by Softr already. Just can’t get Google Search Console to read the file!
hi, I have the exact same problem as OP and this is a big problem as it limits the value of apps we create. I have directories at ismsdirectory.com, bettersecurity,ai, legalpros.ai if records can’t be indexed the websites don’t do their job… so creating a directory on softr is super limited. Any fix planned?
No bug here, and you can do this with Softr. There are just certain steps you need to take, which I’ve listed below:
First, sitemaps cannot be used for subdomains. It has to be on a primary domain.
Then, open your app (www.google.com) and add /generate-sitemap at the end of it. You should then see a message that your site map is generating. This takes around 5 minutes.
Then go into google search console and and copy your app URL with /sitemap.xml appended at the end of it.
Then, you should see your sitemap generated and active in search console. Hope this helps!
