Sitemap indexing in Search Console

So far I’ve only managed to get 4 pages indexed out of hundreds. When I add the sitemap.xml then Google Search Console immeditaley shows it as “Couldn’t Fetch” yet if I click to open it directly then I see the whole XML file with no issues. I’ve also added multiple pages one by one to be indexed but only 4 have been indexed.

Any experience whether this is a Softr issue and how to resolve it?

Hi @podinfo welcome to the community. A couple of questions for you:

  1. Are your pages accessible for loggedin users only, or public users?

  2. Are the pages you’re trying to index dynamic pages? meaning you have a profile page with 100x users, and are expecting 100x profile pages?

Also, feel free to direct message me the sitemap URL you are using. Could be a problem with your formatting.

  • The whole site is public access, no logins
  • I have sevaral list pages and then many details pages created from AirTable data

And to confirm, you’d like to see each of those “detail pages” show up on your sitemap?

Yes I would like them all indexed and they are all there in the XML file provided by Softr already. Just can’t get Google Search Console to read the file!

How do I send a DM?

Click on my profile picture and click message. When doing so, please send me your site URL so I can look into it.

Still no message option visible!

The site is print-on-demand.info

Google has now indexed the pages following my manual page submissions but the sitemap is still showing as “Couldn’t fetch”

Hey JJ. Was there a solution to this?

I don’t believe this was an actual bug, nor have we had other users experience this problem. So I believe it is.
