Policy and Terms

Hey all
@acjnas @Jjenglert @artur @matthieu_chateau @Ben

What blocks / User Experience is best to use for users to click on the Sign Up hyperlinks to ‘Policy’ and ‘Terms’?

My links open up new pages however my companies terms are 8x pages long which is a mission to use the custom code ‘simple text’ block as have to reformat everything from my word document which will take way too long within the tiny simple text block.
And I tried a Iframe to embed the word doc but looks ugly, especially on mobile.

Appreciate all your thoughts and opinions!

Cheers
George

Hey, have you tried setting it up with our simple text block? You can write your terms and privacy policy with that block and navigate users to the page where the block is located. Since you want it to look good on mobile too, you can duplicate the block, set it up for each device with respective styling, and use device visibility settings to control how it appears for each device.

Hey @Aramo yup have tried that but just difficult / time consuming to format 8 pages within the small text box

Since it’s not working for you as you have 8 pages, you might need to consider placing your terms and privacy policy somewhere else and use open external url action (which we have it there under actions of button) and direct your users there. For instance you can store them as a PDF, get the URL of the PDF file (it can be done for example via google drive), and direct your users to it using the open external URL action.

I have the same need here, for making a Terms & Conditions doc when people submit applications for event credentials. Thousands of people have to submit applications (I’m sure barely anyone reads the T&C, but they have to be there) and linking out to is the easiest way I’ve done it in other platforms and how I plan to do it here. It allows for easier management of the file too when it’s linked out. If your legal team sends over a new version with some edit buried somewhere in the document you don’t have to worry about cross referencing it, just swap out the old file with the new one.
But glad to see I wasn’t missing any magical Softr trick that would have it display differently.

@robbrown You’re absolutely right—linking out to an external document (like a PDF hosted on Google Drive, Dropbox, or another file storage service) is the easiest and most scalable approach. It ensures that updates are seamless without needing to manually edit content inside Softr.

If you ever need users to acknowledge the Terms & Conditions before submitting an application, you could add a required checkbox in the form with a label like “I agree to the Terms & Conditions” and link the checkbox text to the external document. That way, users have access to it before submitting while keeping the process streamlined.
