I was doing a bit of googling in my search to find the appropriate no-code platform. To compare Stackby and Nocodb with Softr, I threw the question “which is easiest for beginners” at Google. It resoundingly said Softr, but qualified it somewhat by saying that “Softr is just a visual ‘front end’, you need to connect it to a data source (like Google Sheets or Airtable) to store your information.”
And yet do I not see databases in the menu options for Softr?..
What am I missing here? Is Google right`? Or is Google just behind the times?
It seems that Google is giving a bit old info here. Softr started out as a front end for Airtable and Google Sheets, but it now has its own built-in database, which is Softr Databases. That’s the Databases section you’re seeing in the menu.
So you have two options:
Use Softr Databases and keep everything in one place.
Connect an external source like Airtable, Google Sheets, Notion, HubSpot or SQL if you’d rather keep your data there.
