Native Image Optimization & Conversion in Softr

Issue: Large Image Files Causing Slow Performance & Upload Struggles

I’ve been working on optimizing image uploads for my Softr app, where I handle multiple product images (12-15 per entry) through Airtable forms. However, I’ve faced persistent issues with slow uploads, timeouts, and large image sizes that negatively impact page load speed.

I’ve tried several third-party solutions like:
:white_check_mark: TinyPNG
:white_check_mark: Cloudinary
:white_check_mark: ShortPixel
:white_check_mark: MiniExtensions for Airtable
:white_check_mark: Softr’s native image upload form

From my experience, Softr’s native form works much better than Airtable’s, as it uploads images in the correct order (latest taken to newest), whereas Airtable uploads them randomly. However, I still struggle with automating image size reduction and converting images to WebP format to further optimize performance.

What I Need: Feature Request for Softr Developers

I’d love to see a built-in Softr solution for:
:white_check_mark: Automatic image compression and resizing on upload
:white_check_mark: Native WebP conversion for better performance
:white_check_mark: Configurable compression settings (quality, dimensions, and formats)
:white_check_mark: Faster, optimized image handling across all Softr blocks (gallery, avatar, product images, etc.)

Has anyone in the community found a fully automated way to reduce image sizes effectively while keeping everything streamlined in Softr and Airtable? If Softr has anything in the works for better image processing, I’d love to hear about it!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or insights! :rocket:
