Migrations from Glide

Hi,

As mentioned on the Softr-website ( Why Choose Softr over Glide? (2024 Update) ) I should be able to migrate quickly from Glide to Softr.

**I would like to know if my current (free) Glide-app https://testmigration.glide.page can be build with the free plan of Softr.

The layout may differ (of coarse) but I would be happy if most of the features in my current Glide-app exist in the free plan of Softr.

(*)

  • The link above is a test-version; changes (when you try the app) don’t affect my current data. But please don’t delete a lot of data as someone likely did… (I have now added some new data for testing, not for deleting…)

  • Use the navigation icons at the bottom (on phone) or at the top (desktop)

  • In list-view, the arrow-right gives you a detail-screen with multi-select items as chips

I hope I can build something similar with Softr.
All help is appreciated!

Thanks for having a look.

Hi @WimDC

From a quick look, it appears fine to be built in Softr. The free plan has some limitations so make sure you’re aware of those, otherwise, I don’t see any issues on my side from a quick check.

Thanks for the good news.
I started my first Softr-app (needs some learning ) but can you give me some help on how to set a block (or section) in my items-detail-page (after selecting a date) to multi-select my volunteers as shown in this screen (current Glide-app):

I use Google Sheet as datasource, and the names of those volunteers are stored in the Google-Sheet-tab “NAMES” (1 name per line).
The choosen names (in a similar screen as above —> blue = choosen) have to be stored in the corresponding column of the Google-Sheet-tab “DATES” (separated by comma), like (with this example: Betty,Filip,Marianne )

Thanks

I’d recommend watching our getting started with Softr series. It’ll show you how to use Softr in 60 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fDFaKokpPU
