List Block Enhancement

Hey Ben
Do you know if there was any further dev on this?

And do you know if the above custom code works as a temp workaround? @matthieu_chateau

@GuillaumeDuv Have you tried vibe coding anything similar?

Sorry George. Inspite of requests over the years, what you see from this thread is what we’ve gotten. Another example of how existing features have needed improvement for a long time.

Sure, you can connect a vibe-coding block to the database table you’re implementing this “browser search” feature for and ask

Create a search experience that only starts to show products once you start typing in the search bar. Make the search effective for fields X, Y, and Z.

Got it working thanks. Had a bit of trouble with making it work with multiple action buttons but seems ok now. Would be great to point it to multiple tables eventually

Hey @FPX. How’s this working for you? Have you been using this customized search feature since your last post here and if so how stable has it been?

Hey @Ben yup working well! :+1:

It did use up all my credits though and had to pay for more. Also it seemed to only work when I used a welcome block (which is an AI vibe code block)

Thanks George. Doesn’t sound as easy as:

“Sure, you can connect a vibe-coding block to the database table you’re implementing this “browser search” feature for and ask

Create a search experience that only starts to show products once you start typing in the search bar. Make the search effective for fields X, Y, and Z.

…, let alone as usable as this in list block search settings:

This is what I have been saying about Softr striking a better balance between default configuration settings and over-reliance on AI that increases variable costs for builders.

Yup they’re trying to tackle too many things at one time and becoming mediocre in all departments instead of nailing where they used to add value - as a front end…

That sounds familiar. Like what I’ve heard about Softr since they launched their 2.0 version back in 20’. In fact, this thread initially started in 23’ is yet another great example of what you are now rehashing, when Softr wouldn’t provide a needed improvement to their search feature.

If it sounds like I’m just complaining, I’m not. I also provided a solution for Softr to implement that would have solved for this:
