Currently, there’s no way to limit or compress image/file size when users upload files via a form block. This results in very large files being pushed to Airtable, leading to slow load times and bloated storage.
There are workarounds using third-party tools like Make.com, but that adds unnecessary complexity and costs.
It would be extremely useful if Softr allowed either (or both):
-
Automatic image/file compression at upload
-
Setting a maximum file size limit per file input field (e.g. “Max 2 MB”)
This would keep performance high and data clean — especially for use cases involving frequent uploads (e.g. users uploading property photos, documents, etc.).
Thanks for considering!
