Item-level sharing, Zoho CRM data source, and new integrations

Hey everyone, here is what’s new in Softr since our last update!

Item-level sharing

Share your Softr apps, databases, and workflows with the right collaborators. We surface connected items too, so sharing an app extends the right permissions to everything linked to it.

Zoho CRM data source

Zoho CRM is now available as a native data source. Connect your account to build customer portals, client dashboards, and internal tools directly on top of your CRM data.

New workflow integrations

Bring SharePoint into your workflows to manage list items, files, folders, and pages automatically. Kick off a workflow the moment a new Typeform is submitted. And connect QuickBooks to create and update customers, invoices, vendors, and bills right from Softr.

@cole great updates! Sharepoint and Supabase is very handy.

W’ve been waiting for a native Zoho CRM integration for a while, and the fact it’s live is genuinely really exciting for us. We started using it immediately and there’s a solid foundation. I wanted to share some feedback from real attempts to set it up – I think the path from solid foundation to game-changing is actually quite short, and it would benefit a lot of Zoho–Softr users.

The current module limitations

Right now, the integration supports five modules (tables): Contacts, Accounts, Deals, Leads, and Tasks. It leaves out some important standard modules (e.g. Vendors) while custom modules are also absent.

For many businesses (including ours), custom modules are where a significant portion of day-to-day operational data lives. Daily trades, financial sales, client profiling, property directories… plenty more. Custom modules are central to how many businesses manage their data, and with the initial integration it’s inaccessible to any application we try to build on top of it. Businesses using Zoho tend to have invested heavily in building it out to match their specific workflows (it’s a very customisable CRM).

Related records

The second issue is relational filtering.

At the moment, conditional filters in the interface builder can only be applied to the primary table you’ve added as a data source. You can’t filter based on data from a related module. So if you want to show client list where the related account has a classification of ‘VIP’, there’s no mechanism to do that currently.

Why this matters beyond our specific use case

Zoho CRM’s appeal is its inherent flexibility – module customisation and deep relational structures. A Softr integration that can reach these would unlock a genuinely different class of application for our needs: supplier portals, internal ops dashboards, client-facing views, each showing only the data relevant to the person logged in, all driven directly from live CRM data.

Happy to share more detail or discuss further if it’s helpful for the product team. I did liaise with one of your support reps about it last week and he said he’d pass it on!

Great work as always – huge fans

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts with us @RonanG , custom modules are already on the backlog and it is expected to be available approximately in 3-4 weeks!

Best,

Stripe actions sound great! Would be nice to have workflow guides for the different use cases mentioned in the Stripe docs. For instance, ‘Form Based Checkout’ sounds straight forward, but probably tedious and challenging to set up, even if it works as stated:

Form-based checkout Turn any Softr form into a checkout page — collect order details, create a payment intent, and confirm the charge in one workflow.
