I’m looking to get an answer from a veteran user on my use case to determine if Softr can achieve what I am looking to accomplish. I’m not asking how to accomplish it, but rather if it is accomplishable at all with Softr. Though, technical advice is appreciated if you feel like sharing.
I’ll give a simple description below. Please let me know if I need to provide more detail.
Use case:
I’m looking to build a SaaS and App that can communicate with one another.
The SaaS,
will be a “backend” tool and include multiple services that clients can utilize; examples: donations, volunteering, events. The SaaS will also include a pre-built website builder (4-6 premade theme options with limited customization and premade blocks) with ability to connect domain name of course. The backend features (like event creation, donation inputs, etc.) will auto-populate the website builder sections (for example, creating an event in the backend and that event information auto formatting the appropriate website section). The SaaS donation features, beyond populating the website builder, should also be able to generate embed code for external sites or QR/text links for sharing.
The App,
will, in part, generate its data from the SaaS user’s data (donations, events, etc.) This app is a separate service from the SaaS, though it is connected in that the app utilizes the data from the SaaS to populate its segments in real time. The app will be available on iOS and android.
Is it possible to build the SaaS and App mentioned here with Softr, including communication between the two?
I determined that I could build out portions of the SaaS (dashboards for events, donations, volunteering). Additionally, I theorized (from a Mountain view of what Softr offers) that I could make a separate app (on the platforms I mentioned, iOS and android) and have the data communicate between the SaaS and the app. The website builder portion seems possible, though I was unsure on that one, as well as specifics on the app and the website builder link to other portions of the SaaS data.
Ultimately, I’m viewing things from a Mountain View of what Softr could do, as I haven’t dove deep to figure out if it can achieve the exact specifics of what I have in mind.
I don’t mean to sound lazy by not diving deep (learning by attempting to build this with Softr) and asking for advice here. I was only hoping that if someone has a more “zoomed in view” (knows the ins and outs of Softr and its technical limitations) that they could encourage or disapprove Softr’s capabilities for what I am looking to do before I spent extensive time with learning something that may not be the right tool.
I am currently in between using Softr or Bubble to build out the entire application. I may just have to dive into both! But, I was hoping to get a nudge in the right direction or knowledge of if I am going down the wrong path; for example, I have experience with different web platforms (Wordpress, Shopify, Webflow) and could recommend an appropriate path for someone to pursue, or not pursue, based off of their needs and use case.
