Is it possible to prevent duplicate entries while adding or updating records

In one of the scenario users would be asked to enter/select their choice types / parameters and enter values against them. Is it possible to prevent duplicate entries while adding or updating records

Bumping this, it’s still something I need.

I have a table with one editable column and I need the users to be prompted if they are entering information that has already been entered elsewhere in that column. I would be okay if it rejected the input or at least popped up with a warning.

My other thought is I could accomplish this with a dropdown of options where once selected that choice is removed from the dropdown.

Is anything like this feasible?

(for now my hacky solution is to just have a countif column that will populate with a warning. But that’s not gonna work fast enough through airtable)
