Inline editing in the Item-Details block would be really helpful â a lot of workflows involve making small changes directly in details rather than tables. Also curious if inline editing for tables with an Airtable source is planned or coming soon? Both would make day-to-day use much smoother.

can you please add the ability for avatar to be centred and edited inline, and the words âedit avatarâ added to the block so people dont keep saying to me âyou need to have a line saying edit avatarâ
Nice, this is coming this year. But for this case Iâve a question: We work with âLast edited byâ with hidden fields at the moment. When someone is editing something will we be able to send hidden fields for a edit still?
No, that wonât be possible with inline editing.

Jumping in on this older post to ask if anyone has found a workaround for inline editing in the Item-Details block in the meantime. Iâm curious how the community is handling this, especially with the Q4 2025 timeline still a bit away. Also, has anybody tried integrating avatar editing with other blocks? Iâd love to hear your experiences and any tips you might have!
I was trying out Softr, but being restricted to a modal for edit data on a details page is unfortunately a big miss for me. Being able to choos inline editing of details shown on the details page, and being able to specifically specify which fields are editiable and which editable field are required is a must have feature for me. I will follow this topic en come back trying out Softr when this feature is present. I also hope that this feature in basic form will be available on the free tier.

Happy to share that we have the inline editing available for the item details blocksâ fields if their display type is Text or Heading.
Also, we enabled now conditional filtering on the field level for the item details blocks, which will help you a lot to show the relevant data to the particular users without having the block duplicates on the same page.
