How to validate duplicate records in Softr database?

Hi Softr community,

I was asked to validate that records are not duplicated in my database. However, as far as I know, Softr databases don’t currently have a built-in way to prevent or validate duplicate records.

I was wondering if anyone knows a formula or workaround to handle this validation.

I would really appreciate any guidance or suggestions.

Hmmm, that’s a really good question. Let me ask around and see if anyone knows. I’ll report back if I find out some more info.

This is a good suggestion. A simple approach may be to add a “Require entries to be unique“ toggle option to the Name field. Similar to SmartSuite.
