I’m looking for advice on how you manage photos/images in my Softr apps, especially when working with Airtable as the backend. Here’s my current setup:
I use Airtable to store project-related documents and photos.
Each airtable record contains one or more images
My goal is to let customers view all photos inside Softr, ideally in a gallery view that looks clean and intuitive and to give them the action to download the images once or as bulk.
The issue we’re facing
Right now, as you can see in the attached screenshot, Softr is only showing one record per card, even when multiple images are attached in Airtable. This means that only the first image appears in each card, rather than displaying all images linked to the housing unit in a proper gallery view.
There is a softr field type called ‘Image gallery’ but I believe it can not be use as image cover for your list cards but only in the rest of the card content.
You might need to have records then open a side panel with details where you show other images ? Or you could also try list view which I believe offers the gallery field too
As mentioned the best work around is a view more button that opens a details page (Modal) slider, displaying your gallery. Im using the Modal Slider alot in my build and the UI it gives is pretty slick and avoids opening additional pages…
