In the meantime - has anyone managed to automate this via make.com? Find the old email in Airtable, change that user’s email, and then delete the old user in Airtable? Then the password would not be taken over though and I would need to somehow send a magic link.
Any ideas? Anyone doing this already? I’m wasting so much time on this.
All my users are professionals who keep on changing jobs, so it’s a weekly effort.
What if the user is a paid Stripe user? How would a change in a user’s Softr email reflect the email (user) in Stripe with Softr’s native integration @Jjenglert ? Has the team thought about this?
I don’t want to assume, but if we are forced to use costly 3rd party integrators, like Zapier and Make, to sync user emails for Stripe’s native integration, then it will be yet another gut punch for external user apps. So more transparency would be helpful here for builders who need to plan ahead.
We are working on making this flow significantly easier and will occur entirely within Softr. Hopefully can get something out this month. Will keep everyone updated.
this workaround is not easy to implement, can be tricky to duplicate as emails subscription… will pop-up again ?..
and how will the user get access to his account ? same password ? I was confused there
You’ve been heard, and I’ve shared your feedback with the team. We are working to get this out as soon as possible to make it easier for app users to change their email address. We understand the current solution is not ideal.
