I have a company where we collect data on a Remarkable and take pictures of the situation with our phone. Back in the office we type everything into a spreadsheet and collect the photos on drive.
I want to build an application with a simple frontend that can have a two-way integration with the data.
I want more, but that is for later.
You can set up a database structure in softr databases that suits your needs, with fields for text if you need to write. You can also limit fields, to allow only for example in your use case, photos.
You can then set up a form in your app for submitting this data into the database. Eliminating the need for gdrive and sheets. If you desire, or be more advanced and automate it to send it a gdrive folder.
After you have build your application, you can also turn it into a PWA (progressive web app) that can be installed on any iOS or android phone.
Softr is made so it should be super easy to create your own custom software/tool.
If you need actual help with building the app, you can hire an expert if the task is too daunting or you feel overwhelmed.

Hi JanBons, I understand what you are trying to achieve here. Try out the process I laid down here .
Centralized Application (Built on Softr + Airtable/SmartSuite/Google Sheets backend)
Use Airtable (or SmartSuite) as your data backend. It’s great for structured data, supports attachments (photos), and has APIs for integration.
Softr will provide the frontend where your team can log in, submit field data, and view or edit existing records (this covers the “two-way” requirement).
Field Data Capture
Instead of typing on Remarkable + retyping later, create a Softr form (mobile-friendly) directly linked to Airtable.
Text inputs for observations.
File upload fields for photos (taken on-site and uploaded instantly).
This ensures data + photos are stored in the same record right away—no double handling.
Two-Way Sync
Since Softr connects to Airtable in real time, whatever gets updated in the backend (e.g., office staff refining data, adding notes, tagging locations) will automatically reflect on the Softr frontend.
Likewise, edits from the frontend will update the backend instantly.
If you get confused in any way you can give me a response.
