We’re building a “Canadian Theatrical Marketplace” of Canadian films available for theatrical booking—a centralized tool that connects independent filmmakers with cinemas across the country. The goal is to streamline access to Canadian films that currently fall through the cracks due to lack of distribution infrastructure.
I was very excited to discover Softr. I really believe that Softr and Airtable can make this project come to life.
Our Marketplace will need to:
- Handle bilingual submissions from filmmakers, with rich media fields
- Allow exhibitors to filter and search titles by availability, language, format, genre and marketing materials
- Offer different user permissions (submitters, exhibitors and the public)
- Support long-term scalability as more features (analytics, editorial, release schedules) are added
Think of it like a hybrid of IMDb meets Booking.com—but for Canadian indie cinema.
