Hey everyone. I am quite new to Softr and just planning to use this for my personal side-project.
I am deciding between using Airtable or Google sheets as my source of data as I am yet to build the dataset. Airtable integrated better in my trial runs but Google sheets is free/better limits.
Either way, my main issue was that Google sheets didn’t sync well (or I did something wrong) while setting up.
My question is : How do I make tags appear in the same line like they showed in this guide doc. I followed the same steps and created a column in my google sheets sample data with multiple values separated by comma. However, all I am getting in the Softr app is this (screenshot) -
This was however super smooth using Airtable making me feel Softr is better suited for Airtable?
On a separate topic, does anyone know how to format the links in my Google sheets for it to be able to appear in “Image gallery” in my Softr app?
Welcome to Softr! It’s exciting to hear that you’re exploring it for your side project.
Both Google Sheets and Airtable integrate seamlessly with Softr, but there are some differences in functionality:
Airtable tends to offer more flexibility with relational data and structured fields, which is why your trial run with Airtable may have felt smoother.
Google Sheets, while free and easy to use, can require a bit more setup.
To display tags properly in Softr using Google Sheets, you’ll need to separate the values in the column with a semicolon “(;)” instead of a comma (,).
We could need to adjust the docs for that.
If you prefer Airtable, you’re absolutely right that it’s tightly integrated with Softr, and it can simplify some workflows. However, both options are viable depending on your needs and preferences.
Regarding your second question I recommend you to take a look at this thread.
