Hi - Would love full MCP access to Softr. The internal AI tooling frankly doesn’t really work. I’m doing manual work rather than using it because it is too slow and breaks most of the time.
Would love proper MCP access - just the ability to make changes by API. Con is it affects your moat; pro is it works!
Same as with Airtable’s internal AI - basically doesn’t work. But MCP does!
Manual changes vs DIY AI are slow enough now that it will over-rule switching costs before long

If you have feedback on the AI co-builder, please share them with the team as this will help us improve (we are improving those co-builders on a daily basis).
The custom code block is great because I can give a prompt to Claude/ChatGPT and it will make anything to adjust front end.
I want to be able to do the same with my data and blocks, but even changing formatting on labels on a block is slow and inconsistent with AI right now.
I’d like to be able to do what I do w/ Claude Code but within the constraints of a system I don’t need to have worries about security (which is the primary benefit of Softr over just DIY’ing a system with Claude Code.)
I want to type a prompt and create the blocks I want, format data the way I want, add regex validation in bulk on fields I need to, etc. More unfettered access via prompt to the building blocks Softr exposes for us to manually work with. Ideally via MCP because then I can give my Airtable schema to Claude also and it intelligently evaluates what is needed where.
The difference in comprehension using the internal tools vs giving Claude Code is intense. I gave Claude a repo w my Airtable schema, all my airtable automation scripts, and screenshots of all my internal Softr pages. It can develop a thorough understanding of the front and back end and recreate everything.
I just don’t trust myself to do security audit yet.
