Just noticed this message in the file field type in Softr DB which I hadn’t noticed before. Does this mean even if I have the front end set to only be accessible to logged in users, there is a potential for other people to access via the preview file link even without being logged in? I hope not as this would completely rule out us being allowed to store any files in the database
@artur can you confirm this please and is there any way to prevent this being accessible without logging in?
@sarah_h the only way that’s available also in Airtable and similar is configuring shorter time to live…
If your files need to be used only within Softr App and Studio we can even think of more robust approaches… but need to learn more
Ok thanks for confirming. I’ll discuss with our IT team to see if they will allow me to store documents with that set up although I think because it’s confidential documents they might say no
Where was is stored before ? were you using Airtable ?
No we currently store in our document storage platform which is called Egnyte. I can link to the documents in there but users then need 2 separate logins so was just looking to see if we could move the documents to Softr database instead
are your files only to be used within logged in Softr apps ? if so we can think of a solution…
Yes they would be stored in Softr Database and accessed via a Softr Apps that user would need to log into
