English Teacher from Australia

Hi all,

My name is Steven Quinn and I’m an English teacher at a suburban government school in Melbourne, Australia.

I love Softr because it limits my design decisions and, in that way, teaches me how to create elegant web pages.

I’m interested in using AI to help over-worked and time-poor teachers to modify and scaffold the curriculum to make it more readily accessible to diverse learners.

This is a moral cause. But it is also a mandated policy that schools must adhere to.

Nothing I do is related to “online learning”, instead, the platform helps teachers to resource their face-to-face program.

I’m using Softr to create an attractive front end for the important but time-consuming work of creating units of work that work for advanced kids, special needs kids, English language learners, struggling readers, etc.

At the moment, I’m working on technical problems like context management, self-regulating feedback loops for AI runs, and aggressively-simplified user interfaces for interactions with the AI backend.

However, my main interest is in human learning, and how carefully-tailored AI-generated language and imagery can boost comprehension and conceptual development.

The overall goal is to accelerate every student’s learning by making modification effortless.

If anyone has similar interests, feel free to reply and we can share notes.

Thanks to the team at Softr. You guys are awesome!

Steven
