is there a way to display certain action buttons based on dynamic criteria hosted in airtable. I’m creating a list of 6 options and need to have 8 or more action button combinations for each list item … I am aware that I can use the conditional hiding for each list item, but would prefer to stack my list with 50+ items (8 action button combinations)*(6 list items) + 6 list item details
action buttons would include “join standby” “standby with guest” “finalize event” “finalize with guest” “leave standby” “leave with guest” . visibility dependent upon on how many more people are required / allowed for specific options.
cheers, thanks a bunch, Andrew
Hello Andrew!
Did you have the chance to explore the Button Visibility functionalities? Each Action Button has a Button Visibility section where you can define which users the button is accessible to.
It is similar to the conditional filters.
Best regards,
I will explore in the next day or so and then perhaps report back per our support conversation. it may work but also perhaps not as my 7 or so buttons with rely on user specific traits for that specific event AND that specific event’s traits … user groups may be the solution tho!
Sure thanks for the update.
@Andranik I’m uncertain the user groups will suffice as (I think) they require manual upkeep. I expect hundreds / thousands of ‘plans’ with multiple ‘options’ each and users will have different visibilities based on the ‘option’ details as well as their specific relationship to that ‘option’ . is there a way to automatically create user groups ? I’d need to create 6 different user groups for each ‘plan’ created by users. thanks !
Hello @andrewportnoy , If you are referring to the concept of creating the custom user groups automatically and from scratch after some actions done by your users, is not possible.
Hi Andrew,
Don’t know if this helps but what if you create a single action button on a list details block (or list block) to edit. Create a dropdown with the status / options in a modal?
If it is conditional what options should be viewable, maybe look at fillout forms to integrate it?
wow, super neat thought. I will take a look into that as a possible solution. cheers !
