It would be useful to be able to turn on a 'down for maintenance type landing page when you wish to disable the front end of the whole site (due to making changes or for any reason you need to temporarily disable the whole site).
I know I could temporarily make another page my /home page, although that wouldn’t stop users from manually clicking through to other pages (from Google or otherwise). Being able to disable the whole site and direct to a temporary landing page would be the ideal solution I think.
Right now the only way to do that would be to manually add or remove a meta redirect tag to your page header in your site settings. That would cause every page in the site to redirect.
I’d like to see this function too… I need to restructure my database (Airtable) and my front end will not work. I don’t have time to faff around with manual workarounds to add a “This site is currently under Maintenance” function, I just need a baked in switch that allows an admin a way to toggle the global front end into “Maintenance Mode”, thus locking out anyone except Admins. I’m really surprised this isn’t a more requested feature. I’d be grateful for its consideration, especially since it’s three years since it was originally requested. Thanks.
