Documentation and examples of table block with MySQL

Hello all! I am evaluating Softr as an option for my client portal. My application centers primarily around various filtered views of tables with ~20+ columns.

I plan to use an MySQL database to do most of the heavy lifting in terms of the queries and views. I am looking at Softr as a way to create a UI layer on top of those datasets so my clients can view the records/data.

I am looking for some robust examples of Softr’s table block. I am looking to confirm/review a few critical functions…

  • Compact styling. The default table is fairly ‘large’ and spacious. I have an average of 100 rows per block I need to show. Can this default styling be overridden/altered to be more space efficient?
  • Table elements like listing the number of pages, current page, count of total results. Only examples I can find of Softr tables have a very basic functionality (an arrow to click through the pages).
  • What controls the number of results shown in a table before it paginates? I can’t find any documentation around this (or the table in general)

The table is a foundational building block so am hesitant to commit to Softr is that block isn’t fully featured or customizable.

Anyone have some examples of the table block being heavily used/customized? Or have experiences that can share around getting the most out of the block?

Thanks
Darrell

Welcome to the community

Thanks for listing out your preferences in a clear fashion. We’re in the final stages of rebuilding our table block, which will include a lot of amazing functionality.

I’ve shared this post with one of our product leaders to see if they can give you some added insight into the new table blocks, and what it can or cannot handle with our use case.
