A reformatted URL can be used to display images from Airtable or Google Sheets. What about images stored in Dropbox? I have a shareable link from Dropbox but Softr is not recognising it as an image
A response from Softr below. I’ll try it tomorrow…
To display images stored in Dropbox using a shareable link in Softr, you’ll need to format the link correctly. Here’s how to do it:
- Get the shareable link from Dropbox.
- Replace “www.dropbox.com” with “dl.dropboxusercontent.com” in the URL.
- Remove “?dl=0” from the end of the link.
This modified URL should now be recognized as an image by our system. Make sure to paste this URL in the appropriate column in your Google Sheets database that’s connected to Softr. When mapping fields in Softr, select the “Image” field type for this column to display the images correctly.
And we tested the Softr proposal - and it does not work.
What does work is a suggestion from Chat GPT. To make Dropbox shareable links display as images in Softr, you need to convert them to direct image links. Dropbox’s default shareable links aren’t direct links to the file itself but rather to a page that displays the file, which is why Softr can’t display the image properly. In the Dropbox shareable link URL just replace dl=0
with raw=1
at the end of the URL
