Thanks for reaching out. The current version of our new sign-up block doesn’t support adding extra fields directly.
However, we’re actively working on enabling an onboarding flow after user sign up, which is expected to be ready by the end of Q2 this year.
In the meantime, we suggest redirecting users to the Account Settings page after sign-up, where you can include those extra fields within the Account Settings block instead.
We’ll be sure to let you know as soon as the onboarding flow becomes available!
The pain here is that user caching takes 2 minutes after submission. So even if I redirect the user to the Account Settings block after sign up and they fill out the info I need, I will not be able to redirect them to the different pages I want them to land on since they won’t have a user group assigned until the cache resets.
I’m then forced to make the user either wait (introducing friction) or click through a bunch of random pages just to kill time in order to get their user group assigned.
By including all these fields on signup, they’re always in the correct user group as soon as their account is created.
BTW @sveta.ohanyan, Q2 was last quarter. “The New Softr” had additional fields removed from sign up and we’ve been waiting all year for this proposed “onboarding flow” to be deployed. I hate sounding like this, but this is an essential feature that should have been prioritized over many others released this year.
