Bug in graph filters and record duplication feature request

Current Bug:

  • Condition Filters in Graphs: I’ve encountered an issue where condition filters in graphs, particularly those related to filtering by user-specific data (such as user email), are not functioning as expected when tied to the Logged-in user. This bug significantly limits the ability to create dynamic, user-specific visualizations, which are crucial for personalized user experiences. It would be great if this could be addressed, as it currently impacts the effectiveness of user-specific data representation.

Suggestion for Major Improvement:

  • Enhanced Record Duplication Functionality: One of the most time-consuming tasks I’ve faced is the need to recreate records across different components in Softr. While the platform allows for the duplication of records, there is currently no way to easily paste or apply these duplicated records across various sections like the top bar or item buttons. For instance, if I want to switch from a list view to a calendar view, it would be extremely beneficial to have the ability to retain as many existing records as possible, without having to manually recreate them from scratch. Currently, when I need to transition between different view types or components, I’m forced to recreate records that often contain over 20 fields, and I have to do this more than 10 times. This process is not only tedious but also prone to errors, significantly slowing down the workflow. If there were a way to streamline this process by allowing duplicated records to be easily transferred or applied across different components, it would greatly enhance efficiency and usability on the platform. This improvement would save a considerable amount of time and reduce the potential for mistakes during record creation.

I believe these enhancements would greatly improve the user experience and functionality of Softr, making it even more powerful for users who manage complex data sets or who frequently need to transition between different types of views.

Additional Feature Request:

  • Conditional Dropdown Filtering: It would be incredibly useful to have a feature where, when selecting from two linked dropdown lists, the second dropdown filters its options based on the selection made in the first dropdown. For example, if I select a name (such as an appraiser), the second dropdown should only show properties or items that are associated with that particular appraiser. In my specific case, I would like to be able to select the correct vehicle registration number (license plate) that is linked to a specific car appraiser. This would not only improve accuracy by ensuring that users can only select valid, associated options, but it would also streamline the process and prevent any potential data entry errors. Implementing this feature would greatly enhance the usability and efficiency of forms and data entry in Softr, particularly for users who manage linked datasets.

Hi Floris,

First off, Welcome! Glad to have you in the community. Have you already found : Roadmap - Softr ? The conditional dropdown filtering is under construction.

You can use the Bug Reports - Softr Community section for your bug report. This will get it quicker to the right people

For your duplication, I think that is an interesting idea. I personally am faced alot with the same issue but I kind of took it as part of the job to set it all up once. If there are any ways to ease this process I would be very down
