Hello! I am in the process of building an employee portal for our staffing events that will be replacing a SaaS-provided native mobile app. We have our skeleton of the portal, published, and have the PWA working, but it’s imperative that we have our workers be able to easily download the PWA onto their phones.
I initially attempted this with my default browser (DuckDuckGo), which had instead prompted me to instead create a shortcut to the portal on my home screen instead of installing the PWA:
Then switched to Chrome browser and I download/installed the PWA just fine, I didn’t get this prompt. I then asked my counterpart about it, which they replied that they “tried Firefox, Safari, Vivaldi before switching to chrome” as well.
I understand that Firefox and a few others are supported from my internet searches, but it seems like they’re referring to the desktop version and not mobile. Does anyone know if there is a comprehensive list of what browsers are supported for mobile browsers? Additionally, does anyone know if it’s possible if I was doing it wrong or if there actually is a way to do it on any of the mentioned browsers?
