Ask AI is Live 🚀

Hi Grainne, great question! We have all of our AI model providers listed in our DPA. Check the sub-processors list at the bottom of this page - we don’t do any storing or training with your data.

when is Ask AI feature coming for other databases as well

Hi Patrick, that’s great, thank you so much for this info :+1:

Just to close this thread, we saw that app developers (the person building the app) were able to access the data of the users that they “logged in as” via Ask AI, which we fixed and this problem no longer exists. To be clear, no public info was ever leaked to other users of the app.

Absolutely love this!! any plans to have the A.I retrieve data via csv?

Not sure! Good feature suggestion though. CSV i assume uploaded to your DB as a file?

I was thinking more, delivered in chat. For example, asking a question on data over a period of seven days (like average weighting or total aggregate by day) and the a.i returning it as a CSV file

Im currently copying and pasting the table data it returns, but thought it would be cool to get a csv :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Hope that this makes sense.

Hi @Jjenglert ,

  1. While we are adding the CSV file readiing as a feature request, can you please make the request holistic and allow users to upload Word, PDF, CSV etc.

My Use case - I have a LMS. I have course on Resume/CV creation etc.
Users watch the course, chat with Ask AI. It would be nice if they can upload their resume word/pdf file in Ask AI chat and seek feedback. (Since Ask AI is clearly trained on all my course material)

  1. Also if it can read Word, PDF , CSV uploaded as files in data base that would be amazing too. Right now I am pasting a lot of content from PDF guide (which i built over the years) into long text field, just so that Ask AI is trained. Let me know if some of this already exists.

Thanks. Hope it makes sense.

@Jjenglert ,

Is there a Roadmap for this Ask AI feature?
I am considering buying a subscription for one of the AI chatbot tools, Chipp.ai or Botpress or typebot.

But I remember you mentioning that softr will be advancing the Ask AI feature and launch something similar in-house. So just wanted to checkin before I invest in an annual subscription. I don’t see it on the published roadmap. The AI related features mentioned on the roadmap, looks more like internal use case for AI to build app or formulas, rather than a user facing chatbot or AI agent build on the database.

Anyway to code the existing Ask AI feature into a chat bot. (May be an independent block)
Also any way to see any analytics ? (to judge if my users are even using it or not?)

What specifically are you looking for with Ask AI @AmeerKhatri6167 . It’s available now - what is it missing for you?

@Jjenglert @artur @pford

I see Ask AI is now not supported for Airtable? Can you please update us on new status etc

This has always been the case. Once Airtable finishes it’s migration to DSV2, which is currently in progress and estimated to be complete by next week, then Airtable will become available with Ask AI along with inline editing, and all of the other recent updates. Don’t have an exact date for you though.

We were using it before but perhaps that was Beta mode? Anyway, look forward to the updates. Cheers! :call_me_hand:

Ask AI is so far, an awesome feature and very useful, especially in our use case for retail sales and providing summaries, analysis, and comparisons between many different products.

What I am requesting though, is a separate CTA or Button block for Ask AI, that could be placed anywhere, rather than only as a top button on a specific table, grid, etc.

What does the road map look like to roll this functionality out?

We are working on this :smiley: Hope to have it this quarter

Hi, do you have an estimated timeline for when the Ask AI feature will support Airtable as well?

In the next 1 to 2 weeks. We’ve hit a couple of hiccups along the way. Should be ready soon!

We have been building some cool things around the Ask AI feature, and would like to first say the concept is awesome, unfortunately we have come upon something that is a little surprising.

It would appear that unlimited free AI credits is over, and now you are limited by your plan to a set number of credits per month (no issue with this), unless you “subscribe (purchase)” more credits. The cost of said credits is not easily obtained, but is shown on the Plans page on the main customer facing Softr site.

What is disappointing about this though, is that there no information provided (or even available) as to what each AI credit’s value is, as in what does it cost in credits to complete an action. According to the SOFTR AI support system, this info is supposed to visible within the Plans & Billing page of your SOFTR back end, but when you go there, nothing is shown. Upon further prompting of the SOFTR AI support, it was disclosed that there is NO way to determine what you are charged in credits, for the Ask AI or AI Agent feature to work. So essentially you have no way of knowing what you are getting, or what you can do, with your credits. This is bad.

It is disclosed that credits are “spent” in different amounts based on database source size, and amount of data the AI must go through, but no where is it disclosed what the exact “cost” in credits is for each Ask AI action.

How can one understand the cost/benefit to using the AI features, if the main factor, the “cost” is not disclosed?

Also of note, if you are on a “Legacy” plan, you are not able to purchase additional credits, when you run out. You must upgrade to a current plan.
