Like @Lockdown155 we are on a legacy plan and investing in rebuild our platform with Softr databases, Workflows and Softr AI agents. We also need answers on the questions mentioned bij @Lockdown155 . We canāt effort big costs at this moment.
Thanks for taking a moment to share your feedback with us @Lockdown155
Iāve sent this to my team so we can discuss further, and see if we can 1) improve this experience for you and our other users 2) provide more details into this process for you.
Will get back to you when I can with more info!
in the same case with a legacy plan, I discovered the obligation to move to a new plan to have a softr database greater than 5000 records and to have more than 500 AI credits (Agent and probably for Ask AI). I have to spend 130 dollars more each month⦠I donāt have the budget clearly!
the new features are interesting but I will keep Airtable in the database, AI agents, automation and my scripts.
Ask I would have been a big plus value for me but here I canāt.
I was eagerly waiting for each new release on Softr, now thatās no longer the case, despite not being able to use 199 dollars per month.
Indirect impact, less discussed by Softr, I talk no more about it to my professional network or on the networks as before.
I hope the legacy pricing thing is an error or being ironed out. when they updated pricing it was communicated we would map to benefits offered under the new corresponding plan. I have no problem paying for extra credits, but if legacy members do not have this option that is a hard pill to swallow.
@Lockdown155 At the moment, the best way to do check your pricing is to open up Ask AI in preview mode, do some queries, then go to your billing page, and review the credits used for those queries.
@Eddie this applies for Softr interfaces. However, Softr databases, and Softr workflows are completely new products, and legacy pricing does not count towards them.
@Jjenglert Thank you for the reply, but, you are saying the best way for me to determine how much AI credits an action will cost, is to spend my AI credits?
Added to this, it appears credit consumption is dynamic based on multiple factors, is this correct?
When AI credits are free and unlimited, spending credits to determine credit value is of no concern, but now there are real costs associated with credit spend, costs which you are essentially saying cannot be determined without incurring costs?
SOFTR (in my opinion) is not ready to start charging for the AI features yet, clearly, as they have not communicated to their users what the ācostsā will be.
As for the āLegacyā plan not being able to purchase additional credits, this was also NOT communicated anywhere to Legacy plan users, other than at the point where additional credits are purchased, at which point it is informed that this is not possible.
As a legacy user, had I been informed of:
a) credit value and what actions ācostā to run
b) the fact that as a legacy user I cannot buy additional credits
I could have made an informed decision on whether or not building solutions based on using the Ask AI feature, were feasible or not, I could have made a cost/benefit analysis, and choice.
As it stands, I spent a lot of time building solutions that counted on this new AI feature, only to end up at this point, essentially dead in the water, and unhappy that I cannot get more credits, and even if I could, I have no idea how many I should buy, because I do not know what it costs in credits to use.
@Jjenglert Thanks for the reply. So if I use airtable as a database, and utilize the ask AI block on the softr interface, I will have no issues with credits or limitation as I am not using softr databases to pull the data correct?
Thanks in advance, I am patiently waiting for the AI block to go live for Airtable users so I have no way of testing everything or seeing what others are seeing.
@artur Can you please confirm Ask AI will be secure for Airtable? Just to be clear, our testing was done on a live app, NOT on preview.
Also, how were we able to use Ask AI with Airtable before but no longer can?
Hi @Eddie you will still use AI Credits in this case cause we are using an AI model with Ask AI to generate these answers from you, using your airtable database.
Weāve built this feature to be secure from day 1, @FPX . If you have any evidence that itās nnot working as intended, please DM with a video with more details.
Hey @Jjenglert . Thanks. I guess the only follow up is, being on a legacy plan will I have the ability to purchase additional AI credits for use on the Ask AI block when it connects to airtable?
Your legacy plan comes with a certain amount of AI credits each month, I believe. In order to buy more AI credits than that, you will need to upgrade to one of our current plans.
Thanks @Jjenglert . I will wait to see when the AI block has integration with airtable, but if Softr makes legacy users transfer to a new plan to buy $10 bundles of AI credits that is really poor communication and form as a business. I do not want to get the cart in front of the horse, but all communication in the past made me (legacy user) believe being āearly adopterā support was valued. I was even recommended to upgrade plans so I could lock in the benefits before the new pricing model, thus I upgraded to the business plan just to be sure I would have access to the best features. Is there anyone I can talk to about this to get clarification?
@Jjenglert Kindly checking back in on this. Is there anyone I can talk with to get clarification?
Iāve also implemented an āAsk AIā feature on my platform, and Iād like to know if itās possible to view the user inputs and AI outputs so I can improve the AIās training.
Currently, I have it set up using an FAQ structure, with a Question/Answer field (displayed to users) and a Long Answer field (used internally by the AI but not displayed).
I also need to make my FAQ questions much longer, but I only want to display a few of them to usersāor possibly hide them entirely. Is there any workaround for this?
For example, could I filter which FAQ questions are displayed using a Boolean value, while still allowing the AI to access the full FAQ table?
Hi Eddie. I have been using Softr since the beginning. My post here pretty much sums up Softrās approach to pricing:
Hi @davit7799
Unfortunately this cannot be done for a variety of reasons.
Iād suggest just using the prompt area to adjust how this is handled from there.
Hi @Ben - thanks for sharing, this is good information to know. I definitely need to dig into this forum a little more and do some research.
Thanks again for sharing that thread, itās a very sombering read. @artur @Mariam @Jjenglert I see what has been decided around the softr database access for legacy users.
Can you confirm if/why a legacy user would need to upgrade to purchase additional Ask AI credits?
Additionally, will legacy user receive the respective mapped plan allotment of initial AI credits? i.e. legacy business accounts will get the same credit allotment as current business plan.
@eddie Try workflow with your legacy plan, you will be so happy! ![]()
we are reaching records in terms of disrespect for customers!
You pay $199/month and you donāt have certain workflow features, yet accessible on the plan at $59/month (and others at $167/month).
Just the feeling that I am being forced to move to the new plan!
Itās simple, I donāt talk about Softr around me anymore! in my business networks, same! and on LinkedIn? no way! Who would recommend a company that does not respect its loyal customers?
Just a question to the founders and leaders, would you accept as a loyal customer of several years, being set apart from new developments despite paying more than others who have access to them?
