Airtable View option is gone?!

Is it just me or is has the option to select an Airtable View for the source data disappeared?

Not a function that I use much because it has some drawbacks, but not having it as an option is a serious loss, especially when you consider that the Softr Conditional Filters do not support condition groups - it’s either all or any, no other option!

So what, now I have to create a new field and write some ridiculous formula to encompass all the if ands and ors easily achieved in a the filters for a view?

Please tell me it’s just some transient glitch :folded_hands:

Hi there

Airtable Views are no longer supported in Softr, that’s why you don’t see the option to map the block to a particular view. You can read more about that in this post.

How can this be?? I was counting on this to… One Airtable view vs setting the appropriate conditions on multiple Softer pages, how does this make my life easier?

Losing this feature is a real blow. My clients database people on the airtable side were very content managing their airtable views that would then automatically appear to users of softr (who are based in many other departments). I am seeing a lot of risks with maintaining parity between them so yeah, would be great to have that back.

I’ve just noticed this as well — mainly because my Airtable API calls suddenly increased significantly.
That’s what made me realize that the view option seems to have been quietly removed.

To be honest, this feels like a strategic move by Softr to push users toward their own database.
Everyone can decide for themselves how they feel about this move — personally, I don’t think this is okay. → -1 for Softr.

There’s currently a very strong focus on promoting the Softr database, but in my opinion this comes at the cost of frustrating a large number of existing users.
Especially when a core feature is removed without clear communication, while at the same time Airtable API usage (and therefore limits and costs) increases for users.

This doesn’t feel very user-centric for people who use softr “just” as front end.

Hey all!

We’re currently working on enhancements to the Airtable integration. Soon, you’ll be able to group, filter, and configure conditions directly within Softr to achieve the same results that were previously handled via Airtable views.

The temporary removal of views was related to technical updates required for the new integration model. The improved functionality is expected to be released this quarter.

We appreciate your patience and feedback as we continue improving this experience.
