We’ve upgraded Softr’s Airtable integration, making Airtable-powered apps faster, more powerful, and compatible with the latest Softr features—no rebuilds required.
With this update, apps built on Airtable can now use:
→ Ask AI
→ Comments
→ Kanban and Map blocks
→ Calendar conditional coloring
→ Inline editing in tables
→ Workflows UI actions
→ Dynamic app logos
→ Chart custom coloring and number formatting
→ Multi-sorting
If you’ve been waiting to use newer Softr features with your Airtable apps, this one’s for you. Check out the LinkedIn post and video here: Day 12: Airtable data source updates | Softr
Calendar conditional colouring only works if one creates a new block, ie it hasn’t updated my existing Calendar blocks with the new feature. Before I start the process of manually recreating all my Calendar blocks using the “new” instance, is this something that will be resolved?
I know that the Airtable API is limited to 100 records at a time. Is the data available for the query limited to the 100 records currently displayed in the block or all of the the records in the connected table? Also, is the data for the query limited to the fields that are displayed in the block?
Greetings @Erin_Softr. Thanks for the update. What other blocks does the new Airtable connection officially work with (ex. List, Grid, List Details,…, legacy blocks, etc.)?
@artur , never got a response from the poster here. Can you answer my question please?
Just to clarify, according to Softr support, dynamic blocks connected to Airtable that were created before this release ~12.25, have to be replaced, reconfigured, and essentially “rebuilt” with new blocks if this ‘DSV2’ Airtable connection will be used.
Update from Softr support after they told me the above:
legacy blocks: if they are legacy blocks that are not in our app anymore, they will continue working the same way as before we introduced the Airtable DSV2 connection.
blocks added before we changed the Airtable connection to DSV2: if you have not added views to them, they will be automatically converted to the Airtable DSV2 connection. If you have views configured, as soon as you remove them, you will see that the block automatically converts to the new Airtable connection (and the views field will disappear).
