AI Pricing Changes - No Notification from Softr!

So I’ve just logged into my Softr account as our renewal is due in a couple of days and noticed that we now have very limited AI credits only 100 on the Business Plan and no one has notified us about this change. Really disappointing from Softr! We are being pushed more and more towards using the AI vibe coding block as the native functionality isn’t available and now they have introduced this additional pricing which means every AI vibe coded block is using up credits. This type type of thing will not reflect well on the company. Softr - please do better

I’ve used 60 of my 100 credits just in 1 day for my vibe coded blocks which are only a few graphs and I only have a few users at the moment. This will prevent future use if this isn’t sorted

Hi @sarah_h

There was no pricing change, vibe code block was free to use for some months and was marked as such as it was still in beta and we announced that we started to charge and we have been always transparent that it’s not forever free. The feature doesn’t come as free and hence we need to charge for it to continue operate as a business.

I have had no communication about the charges and only found out today by looking myself. The pricing is excessive and completely changes if we will be able to use Softr going forward. It has not been made clear at all

My thoughts exactly.

An important mention here as well that was part of the announcement email, we have changed the value of AI credits:

  1. Credit denomination update (no price change). We’re also simplifying how AI credits are displayed.
  • Previously, 100 credits represented 1 unit of usage.

  • Going forward, 100 old credits will equal 1 new credit.

This is purely a denomination change to make usage easier to understand and manage. There is no change to pricing or the total value of your credits, and your purchasing power remains exactly the same. Only the way credits are counted and displayed has been simplified. If you have any questions, we’re always happy to help.

I haven’t received an email about this. As a Business Plan user I’d have expected some communication around when this was moving from free to chargeable? It doesn’t help that we no longer have the monthly community call. The communication levels from Softr have definitely deteriorated. Changes are happening without us knowing. I’ve been a big fan of Softr but things like this are not great. I have been waiting on features for months and they keep getting delayed then I’m told to try the vibe coding but it still has a lot of issues so you end up going back forth a lot to get it to do what you want and now to find out this actually uses lots of credits is disappointing. Recently I also enquired about SSO which was 2 x times what I currently pay. Seems like things are going to be pushing more and more towards enterprise plans :frowning:

Please advise where this announcement email is as I’ve no record of it. My AI credits used to show 10,000 and have now been reduced to 100 with no communication

An email from Mariam, our CEO, has been sent on Tuesday (around 5pm CET) last week to all users to inform about these updates.

100 credits today have the same value as 10,000 credits before that change. The denomination has just changed.

We have also announced that all plans now benefit from an unlimited number of published apps, removing the limitation that the Free and Basic plans had.

Can the content of that information be posted in the community as I’ve received no emails from Mariam

I have to agree that I haven’t received an email from Mariam either. Perhaps you could double-check the mail list to see if that’s the issue?

I received the email, pasting it below. My request for clarification about the vibe-coding block is that once it’s coded, it doesn’t consume any more credits; is that correct?

We’re writing to share a few updates to our pricing and credit system, effective today, March 3rd, 2026.

This message is simply to keep you informed — no action is needed on your end.

What’s changing:

1. Unlimited apps on all plans
Every plan will now include unlimited apps you can build, giving you more freedom to create and scale without limits.

2. Vibe Coding block will use paid AI credits
Vibe Coding block was previously free during beta, and we’re grateful for all the feedback you have shared with us. As the feature has now matured and moved out of beta, it will start consuming AI credits like the rest of our AI-powered tools.

3. Credit denomination update (no price change). We’re also simplifying how AI credits are displayed.

- Previously, 100 credits represented 1 unit of usage.

- Going forward, 100 old credits will equal 1 new credit.

This is purely a denomination change to make usage easier to understand and manage. There is no change to pricing or the total value of your credits, and your purchasing power remains exactly the same. Only the way credits are counted and displayed has been simplified. If you have any questions, we’re always happy to help.

Our goal is to continue investing in powerful features while keeping our pricing fair and transparent. If you have any questions, we’re always here to help.

Thank you for being part of our community — we truly appreciate your support.

Best,

Mariam, CEO, Softr

Thank you Temima. I haven’t received this email so good to know what was in it

Exactly, it only uses credits when you use the AI chat to create or edit the block.

Any edits of the block via the code itself or the editable settings (in “Content” > “Settings”) we’ve recently introduced don’t consume AI credits

Can you please check why I didn’t get the email? I’ve checked with our IT team and there’s definitely no record of it in either of my mailboxes

Could you ask the in-app support to check and confirm whether your email is in the email list, and didn’t unsubscribe from announcements?

I have received the email.

Could you also ask the in-app support to check and confirm whether your email is in the email list, and didn’t unsubscribe from announcements?

It looks like AI credits are being charged not only when the AI performs an action, but also an additional base fee for each activity.

For example, there seems to be a minimum charge of around 0.15 credits per request, even before factoring in the actual AI processing.

In other words, every time the AI is triggered, there is a “flag fall” cost, plus any extra usage on top of that.
