Having the ability to trigger a Workflow from a Quick Link would provide more flexibility and better layout options.
I’m trying to create action buttons for a Workflow but I don’t want to use action buttons tied to an item block. Quick Links appear to be the best option, but they don’t trigger Workflows. This would be a great addition.
Hi Toby
Quick Links can’t trigger a workflow, since Quick Links is a static block, and also the links there only open a page or an external URL, and both of these actions do not serve as triggers for the workflows.
If you don’t want to use an item block, you can try creating something interesting using a Vibe Coding block
Hi @david_mheryan, the way you explained the functionality of the Quick Link block is how I understand it to work. I was suggesting that Softr add the ability for a Quick Link block to trigger a Workflow as that would be a simple way to add action buttons outside of Item Details blocks.
Here’s an example of what I was thinking it would be useful for. On an Item detail page, I need to have action buttons. Not the native action buttons that are displayed at the bottom of the Item Block that get hidden if there are more than two buttons. I need to display action buttons, such as Mark Lead as Contact, Market Lead as Won, Mark Lead as Lost, Call Lead, Email Lead. These buttons should be displayed prominently on the page without being condensed because the label is too long or hidden because there are more than two buttons. Right now there is no quick and simple way to do this.
Yes, we could use the Vibe coding block but the results are hit and miss and recreating similar functionality on different pages does not guarantee a consistent look and feel.
Adding the ability for Quick Links to trigger Workflows would provide a way to add action buttons to a page that are quick to setup, and consistent in look and feel.
