Hi everyone,
I’ve built a small social media tool in Softr and I really want to stay within Softr because I’m not a coder. There’s just one thing I can’t figure out — even after lots of research and some back-and-forth with Softr support:
I need a form field that correctly preserves spacing and emojis when users paste text — for example from Word or Facebook.
According to the Softr team, the issue happens because those platforms include hidden HTML formatting when copying text.
Softr can’t interpret that properly, so line breaks or emojis get lost.
My goal is that the text appears exactly 1:1 as pasted in the form — with all original line breaks and emojis.
Has anyone found a workaround for this? Maybe an alternative input tool that can be embedded in Softr, or any other creative solution? Or is this technically impossible to achieve?
Thanks so much for any ideas or experiences!
Thomas
