I’m looking to build a 2 sided marketplace in the conference industry. I tried building it on lovable. It did build something interesting but found it extremely hard to create a workable MVP. I would love to connect with anyone who as created a 2 sided marketplace or an expert I can work with.
Hi Jonathan. What specific questions do you have? You might have noticed with your other builder that you can technically build a marketplace, but the devil is in the details when it comes to a usable app that is powerful, reliable, and performs well enough.
Hey Ben, thats definitely is the case! Diving deeper, there are 2 users Companies that are posting jobs and freelancers looking for opportunities. Thinking through the flow is it possible to have a landing page where the users log in and then depending on the user type have their own dashboard? There is a lot more questions but I’ll keep it that for now. lol

Yup, can be done using user groups and visibility rules to show / hide specific data for specific users.
Yes, but it’s not easy, meaning workarounds are involved. Softr recently revamped user navigation and account management so there are no longer additional fields on sign up to capture info other than their name, email, and password. Consequently, there is no way to differentiate new users as they sign up now.
Softr is “working” on an onboarding flow, but we’ll have to wait and see how that turns out. IMO, this should have been deployed when the new release was earlier this year, let alone years ago like a lot of essential features that were backburned.
I don’t mean to dissuade you, since there are other useful features for a marketplace, but this is typical of the way Softr itterrates.
